We (They) help people and businesses to arrange, organize, and store their confidential documents in a secure storage system at their home or business.

President Joseph Petraglia has successfully overseen the completion of more than 3,000 projects related to confidential document management systems. Vice-President Danny Caci brings over 15 years of experience from the tech sector to the team.

BIO, J. Petraglia

Joseph is a seasoned management consultant with over 36 years of extensive experience in business coaching. Known for his articulate communication and eloquent presentation skills, he possesses a remarkable ability to swiftly grasp challenges, implement effective solutions, and meet deliverables within strict timelines, a hallmark of his accomplished career spanning more than three decades.

From 1988 to 2020, Joseph served as the Managing Senior Partner at Astoria Consulting, a distinguished Montreal-based firm specializing in confidential business document management. Over his tenure, Joseph successfully led over 3,000 projects, notably including engagements with prestigious clients such as Imperial Tobacco Canada, a Fortune 500 company, and pivotal contributions to the public safety network for the Canadian Defense Industry.

In 2021, Joseph co-founded SafeGuard Solutions and is the current president. The firm specializing in confidential business and residential document storage systems.

Following his corporate tenure, Joseph embarked on a successful public service journey, elected to three consecutive terms as Commissioner (July 1998 to October 2011) with the English Montreal School Board in Canada. Overseeing a substantial operational budget of $368 million, he orchestrated a remarkable fiscal turnaround, steering an $11 million deficit to a $2.4 million surplus through strategic interventions and prudent management. Joseph's leadership roles extended to chairing the Adult Education and Vocational Services Committee, while his involvement on the Executive and Audit Committees underscored his commitment to governance excellence.

Originally, from Long Island, New York, Joseph's journey includes service as a Platoon Sergeant during the Vietnam War, where his unit's exceptional performance earned them a Presidential Unit Citation, and Joseph himself was honored with the Bronze Star for his exemplary service.

Joseph pursued his education at Hunter College, University of New York, and furthered his professional development by graduating from the U.S. Army Non-Commissioned Officers College at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Before diving into the task of organization, it's essential to take a moment to mentally prepare yourself. Whether you're naturally organized or not, many of us find ourselves hesitant to tackle such tasks simply because we don't know where to begin. Take a few days to contemplate the whereabouts of your documents—are they scattered throughout your home, or do you have them neatly stored in one location? Once mentally prepared, choose a stress-free day to kickstart the process.

Step Two: Gathering and Sorting
The next step is to gather all your important documents and items, separating them from the less critical belongings. Imagine the unthinkable—a fire or water damage—and consider which items you would want to survive such circumstances. Your checklist should include essential documents such as social insurance numbers, passports, insurance policies, legal documents, property records, and medical records, among 'many' others.

Step Three: Secure Storage
With your documents and items gathered, it's time to place them in a secure fire and water-resistant storage box. By centralizing and securing everything in one location, you gain peace of mind knowing that your vital assets are safe and easily accessible when needed. 4 TIPS ON HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR IMPORTANT FILES AND GET READY TO GET ORGANIZED

First Step: Gather all your documents and sort them into three piles: [Keep- Recycle - Shred].

Second Step: The documents you plan on keeping should be placed in properly labelled file folders.

Third Step: Place the file folders in a fire and water resistant secure box

Fourth Step: Call a shredding company (such as Iron Mountain) to shred your papers and documents that are no longer needed.

If you're not comfortable in completing Steps 1 to 4 on your own, call SafeGuard Solutions that specializes in coming to your home to organize and properly store your documents, collectables, etc.

Additional Considerations

It’s a good idea to place other items in the same secure box. Items such as: a copy of your friends and family phone numbers, Jewelry, collectables and in case of death your preferences and wishes for the ceremony.

Twice yearly, back up all your important documents, correspondences, etc. in your home computer and save to a USB Key. This way if you have water damage or if someone steals your computer you have a backup file. Remember, place the USB key in the same secure storage box

How many files can fit in your storage system?

Depending on the various thicknesses of each file you can store up to 45 files. In our sample gray kit there is 37 files.

I don’t need file folders in my box – I need boxes to hold my coin collection. Can you do this?

On occasion we have been asked to “house” several different configurations for collectable’s. We have sturdy boxes with covers that can replace the file folders.

If I purchase two storage systems can I get a discount?

Yes. A 10% discount is available for the second storage system.

Can I change the combination to the storage box lock?

Yes, ask our representative for assistance, it's really quick and easy.

How do I change the battery to the Tracking Device?

Call Customer Service to make an appointment to change your battery, and at no charge to you, and we even provide a new battery for you.

Is there a distance limit for the Tracking Device to operate?

No, as long as you have excess to the Internet, the tracking feature will work.

Can SafeGuard Solutions make me a file and label with a File Name that is not in your 60 point list?

Yes, and at no charge to you

What are your terms?

We require a 30% deposit and the balance is due upon our completion.

When I pay my deposit, how long before I will see completion?

Generally 2 to 3 weeks.

How can I pay SafeGuard Solutions?

By check, e. transfer, cash, or credit card (Visa or Master Card)

You mentioned that you can shred my obsolete documents, where is this done and how much does it cost?

Included in our service agreement is up to 100 pages of shredding at no cost. The service is done under your supervision, and at your home.

Does your company provide a guarantee?

Yes, we offer up to one-year for revisions, or additions to your system, and at no cost to you.
